Cash and dilution
For companies with a public float under $300M, or under $2B with the size chip: cash runway from each 10-Q and 10-K, and the public float from each annual report cover, as stated in the filings.
Energy and mining companies with a public float under $300M, less than 4 quarters of cash and an at-the-market program filed in the last 12 months
No companies match these filters with a recent 10-Q or 10-K that has cash figures.
How these figures are worked out
- Runway
- Cash and short-term investments over the average operating cash burn of the last two quarters, from the XBRL in the latest 10-Q or 10-K, dated by that report's balance sheet. The bar is red under 3 months, amber from 3 to 12 and grey above; the words carry the same meaning. 'Raised since report' marks a raise filed after that report: the newest 424B prospectus (a 424B3 or 424B7 only when read as a sale of new shares), an S-1 read as new shares, or an 8-K reporting an unregistered share sale (item 3.02) or a financing agreement (item 1.01). Hover the runway, or read it with a screen reader, for the detail: when the estimated run-out date has passed, the month the cash lasted to and when the next report is due; under 4 quarters, whether a raise was filed since, or how many 8-Ks since are not read yet. Rows more than 60 days past their run-out month sit below current ones, marked figures out of date.
- Burn a quarter
- That two-quarter average, the same figure as the runway card on each company page. When a report tags only year-to-date totals, each quarter is the longer total less the earlier one.
- Not a cash-burn company
- Revenue in the latest quarter was above the cash outflow, so the outflow is a swing in inventory, receivables or payables rather than a burn rate; or operating cash flow over the last four quarters or the last fiscal year was positive. These companies get no runway and are not listed here; each company page says why.
- Not ranked
- Banks and lenders, insurers, brokers, funds, REITs and other real estate companies, partnerships and SPACs (SIC 6770, or a name with 'Acquisition Corp', or with 'Acquisition' and under 5% of assets in cash because the rest is in trust), companies with no tagged cash, a latest 10-Q or 10-K more than 9 months old, and figures that fail a check (cash and cash flow from different periods, cash above total assets, or under a week of cash while cash is under 5% of assets). They are listed under 'Not ranked' below the table, grouped by the reason.
- Shares, 12 months
- Change in diluted shares against the same quarter a year earlier, split-adjusted as the latest report restates them. A change above +300% or below −40% reads 'after a reverse split' when we found one ('reverse split adjusted'), and otherwise 'may include a split or new class' ('share count may include a split or a new class; check the source'), linked to the report.
- Float
- The public float on the cover of the latest annual report, as of the end of the second fiscal quarter, linked to EDGAR; hover it for its date. 'Float not stated' replaces $0, or a float over 1,000 times cash that neither the last offering price nor 100 times total assets supports. A float from a fiscal year more than one year before the latest report's, or followed by a share change of more than 100%, is marked with a dot, 'float may be out of date'.
- Shells
- By default a company with no stated public float, or under $25K of cash, is a shell or near-shell, and is hidden; turn off 'Hide shells' to list them.
- Sector
- The SIC code on file with the SEC, corrected for a few companies whose code does not match their business. Filters combine: each one narrows the list.
